We are two Marys who live in Medina, Washington.  Hence the name, Mary Medina.  Like most women with four kids, our lives are pure chaos, and we struggle to stay organized.  Then, our cell phones ring!  The frenzy is multiplied as we thrash through our handbags digging for that little, lost, ringing cell phone.  By the time we find it, we have missed the call.  Can you relate???

Mary B. decided she'd had enough!  She was bound and determined to remedy this situation.  She went to the bead store, bought a strand of fresh-water pearls, tied it to her purse and duct-taped it to her cell phone.  Voila!  No more missed calls.

Over an afternoon beer, she showed it to Mary M. "You're a GENIUS," exclaimed Mary M.  "First you have to make this pretty, then run with it!" Mary B. said, "Not without you!"

We immediately started intense investigation, made some great contacts and beaded for hours on end.  Within a week, we were in the lawyers office trade marking the name TechTether and forming Mary Medina, LLC.  Two months later we were traveling, touring factories, designing hardware and charms, selecting an abundance of exquisite beads and creating beautiful designs.  Within months, production began.

What started out as a functional item is now offered in 40 different "pretty" styles.
